History

Shortly after the City of Jerome was founded in 1907, a cemetery was established to service the local population.

Jerome Cemetery is located at 705 West I Street in Jerome, Idaho. Driving directions are one-half mile south and one-half mile west of the center stoplight of the town of Jerome, Idaho.

The first recorded burial in the Jerome Cemetery was Nellie Pratt on November 1, 1908. Since that time the cemetery has grown to serve the town and countryside surrounding Jerome. It has many beautiful trees and shrubs and is entirely grass covered.

In addition to standard and cremation lots, Jerome Cemetery has a mausoleum and offers a columbarium for above ground cremation interment and a memory wall. Jerome Cemetery was originally managed by an association board of directors. In November of 2015 a cemetery maintenance district was approved by the voters within the district. The current board consists of an elected trustee from each of the three districts. The board is supported by a part-time administrative assistant and a full-time cemetery sexton.
